This here is a lock down defense of the syllabic glory that is haiku. English haiku (lines of 5-7-5) is represented, as well as Lune—shorter versions measuring 3-5-3. Kireji and kigo are often utilized, but, inspired by the free-form tenacity of the osprey (our spirit animal), strict adherence to traditional forms is by no means mandatory. In fact, the only requirement for this exercise is that one haiku be produced per day for the entire year. There is music for pleasure. Thank you.
